What advice would you give yourself?

Say this is 10 years later, and you are now your age + 10. Through this message board you are able to communicate with your former April 2013 self. What tips or advice would you give yourself?

My tip:

If I were 19 years old again, I am 29 now, I would definitely not waste my time, that’s one of the best tips you will ever receive. Pain is temporary, not having any pain means regretful, safe, and content experiences, time goes on, then you’re 29.

What would your age + 10 year old self tell your present self?

Ten years from now, I would probably tell myself the same thing. I often find myself more content with lying in bed than going out and having an adventure. Today’s society values what we put on our resume and our GPA, but I know I should value what doesn’t belong on that piece of paper. It is hard to learn that sometimes you have to do the spontaneous thing and have fun, and hopefully by recognizing it now, I can avoid needing that advice in the future.

I’m not quite sure what my life experiences will be up to age 29, but there is something that I have adopted as a life philosophy as of late and I’d probably just remind myself of those points:

    – “Darlin’, do not fear what you don’t really know.”
    – Not everything goes as planned, embrace it, and just go with it.
    – If you want something, all you have to do is go out and get it. You’d be surprised what people will give you if you just ask.

Additionally, I’d tell myself the first year of college flies by, you meet amazing people, and have so many cool experiences. Don’t take any of it for granted, and remember every single thing that happens. =D

ten years from now, I would probably tell myself to stay focused and keep my priorities straight. In today’s society, it’s easy to lose sight of all the things that are really important. Time can’t be taken back, so I definitely don’t want to waste my time!

Ten years from now, I will be 30! Crazy how time flies, right?

    I would tell myself to:
    – Never let people get to me and continue to be myself. God made me the way I am am for a reason.
    – Take a breath and relax.
    – There is so much more in store. 20 doesn’t mean the end of anything, and neither does 30.

I’m not really sure what my 29 year old self would tell me now. Probably to avoid some mistakes that I’ve already made that I don’t know about yet! Let’s be real, though, would I even take advice from 29 year old me? I’m not so sure…
