Good News

Of what you could consider last week one of the worst weeks that America has dealt with, I’d like to take the lead (teehee) and  bring some lighter news with a  few stories that can warm your heart a little.

A Californian Officer named Michael Kohr had gotten a report of a little girl’s bike being stolen. Instead of looking for the reported stolen bike, he bought her a new one.

And I can’t leave this out without a bit of humor, a hospital in Detroit has brought in a new gown design, the addition? A back.

I can list a few other fortunate things that have happened since last week:

  • First things first: you are still breathing.
  • A new baby has been born( Mazel Tov!)
  • One lucky person had made it to their 100th year of life.
  • You received an A on your test!
  • You received a B on your test!
  • ….You received a C on your test!
  • Someone somewhere has fallen in love.
  • There’s a cute animal out there doing something adorable.
  • You had a smile on your face at one point in time today.

Just remember with all the bad things that happen to people, there are good things as well. Extraordinary things.

LOVE this post! It’s so easy to get caught up in all the bad things that happen in the world, in your area, in your life. I think it’s quite important to stop and recollect the good things that have happened to. In doing so, I think we become more appreciative of the lives we live, and in doing so, we become better able to deal with difficult circumstances when they arrive.

AWWW! this is cute. It definitely put a smile on my face and I can now go through the rest of the day thinking about how great this world is! Going into this stressful final exam study period I can just think about some happy thoughts and be okay 🙂 I am so glad that the world is still good even though the media has lead us to believe that it isn’t.

As adorable as this post is, and it definetely is, I think you also bring light to the fact that good things happen all the time. It is a shame that the bad always makes the headlines. Not to say that we shouldn’t be informed about events and that there aren’t times of distress where we should know about so that we can help each other out, but for once I would like to open yahoo news and see a cute little kitten getting adopted or a playground being built. The bad will always be there, but if just relax and breathe we see that so will the good!

Janessa, I needed a pick-me-up, so thank you for this! A lot of the time, we forget how truly lucky/blessed we are in our lives. I’ll be the first to say that I get distracted by the less-than-favorable events that happen in life, and I shouldn’t allow that to happen. Mentally “checkin myself before wreckin myself” is in order!
