Just be Yourself

To be a good leader you have to believe in yourself – be sure of yourself and confident in the choices you make. Otherwise, how else would you expect for others to follow you?

Many times people try to cover up their uncertainty, but I think this is the downfall in many unsuccessful leaders today. People notice a lot about a leader by the way he/she presents themselves, and people can definitely notice if someone is presenting themselves dishonestly. Yes, people want a leader who know what they’re doing but they don’t have to know everything – that’s why a leader has a team working with them.  To solve this dilema the leader must have the right communication skills to really let others know what they’re thinking about. If people can’t communicate then things don’t work. Communication and confidence are key and needed to make a good leader and for things to run smoothly.

“Knowing what you can not do is more important than knowing what you can do. IN fact, that’s good taste.”
— Lucille Ball

I agree with you. As someone who really enjoy public speaking, I know how much authenticity matters to the people you talk to. It should be evident that both your heart and soul are in it so that people can be pushed towards believing what you have to say. This can tie to rhetoric, the art of persuasion in a way, and getting the audience to believe what you have to say. Even though we see leaders to a role that is relative to society, be it a position of power or just a member of society pushing to make a difference, we see that these people still have to talk to others and get their goals and ideas across.

I also agree with you. People who are fake, i truly insecure and confused about themselves. If you are not able to understand yourself how can you fully understand others.
